Cherry blossoms, or “Sakura”, in Japan, evoke themes of renewal, hope, and the arrival of spring, marking a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. Traditionally, “Hanami” (flower viewing) is the traditional Japanese custom of enjoying flowers' transient beauty together with friends and family.

Nestled at the corner of Hollywood Road and Peel Street in Central, Brazilian Japanese restaurant and bar
Uma Nota brings São Paulo’s Nipo-Brasileiro street food and cocktails to the heart of Hong Kong and continues to be a prime choice for birthdays and special occasions. In celebration of the vibrancy of spring and the restaurant’s seventh birthday, Uma Nota will bring the “Hanami” season to all guests and offer a special birthday discount throughout April.

Not only will Uma Nota offer a selection of cherry blossom and spring-inspired a la carte dishes and cocktails from April to May 15, 2024, but guests will also be dining beneath the romantic cherry blossom installation adorned the dining room’s ceiling, all the better to immerse diners in celebrating all sorts of occasions in this picture-perfect setting.

These special items include the Yoshino Ceviche (HK$170), the sliced fresh Hamachi served with shishito-jalapeño “tiger milk” and coriander oil, garnished with tapioca furikake, tobiko, and Yuzu flowers; Fresh Takenoko salad (HK$80), a spring-inspired bamboo shoot salad packed with crisp, bright and peppery flavours. The Japanese Mizuna is mixed with watermelon radish, bamboo shoots, pear and toasted sesame dressing. For something sweet, the stunning Sakura Jelly Set Yoghurt (HK$105), the cherry blossom jelly, is set on a soft bed of “Ichigo” strawberry panna cotta, garnished with toasted almond crumble and Japanese fresh strawberry.

Don’t miss out on the blossom-hued cocktail imbued with Sakura flavour cocktail, Kawazu Breeze (HK$105). This refreshing, zesty concoction is made with the Akori Cherry Blossom gin from Japan, a rice-based spirit with juniper, dragon fruit, kumquat, citrus, and ginger aroma. The gin-based cocktail is combined with cherry blossom syrup, fresh apple juice, and yuzu juice, and it is garnished with fresh cherry blossoms to enhance the aroma.
