Ask for Alonzo has reached an exciting milestone with the opening of its first international outlet in Warsaw, Poland, this September. The renowned group, Deadly Rabbits Concepts, is also set to open its sixth location in Hong Kong at Sha Tin Newtown Plaza this November, joining its five existing branches across Hong Kong Island, including Quarry Bay, Tai Hang, Happy Valley, Star Street, and SoHo.
This popular modern Italian trattoria, celebrated for its relaxed atmosphere and approachable dishes, has launched a new à la carte menu featuring exciting new creations alongside cherished signature favourites. Additionally, the restaurant has introduced a “mix-and-match” set dinner value meal, designed to be both budget-friendly and satisfying, making post-work dining enjoyable and effortless.
Ask for Alonzo pays homage to Alonzo, a mysterious family man whose passion for homemade Italian dishes is rooted in the treasured recipes of his childhood. The restaurant offers family-style Italian cuisine, known for its fresh and comforting flavours. Ask for Alonzo creates a warm, welcoming ambience that echoes the cosiness of Alonzo's family kitchen while ensuring prices remain affordable for the community—embodying the heart of Italian cuisine: accessible, affordable, and comforting.
Renowned for its casual dining atmosphere, the restaurant serves a variety of delectable offerings, including fresh pasta, antipasti, and traditional mains, with standout dishes such as Alonzo’s signature Carbonara and Rigatoni Amatriciana. Guests can indulge in honest, authentic cuisine, served in a setting that seamlessly blends indoor warmth with a tranquil outdoor experience. With multiple locations across Hong Kong, including Happy Valley, Quarry Bay, and Tai Hang, Ask for Alonzo has rapidly become a favourite destination for both locals and visitors seeking a taste of Italy in a welcoming environment.
The new menu promises to delight Hong Kong diners with classic, authentic Italian home recipes, highlighting light, fresh, and zesty flavours that resonate with the discerning local palate. Guests can look forward to dishes that exude warmth, authenticity, and a sense of home, with vibrant new à la carte additions available now at all five locations, as well as the brand-new outlet in Warsaw.
The new dishes on the new à la carte menu include:

Seared Tuna with Lemon Dressing (HK$128) – An appetiser inspired by the love of tuna among Hong Kongers, the fresh tuna is seared to retain its tender texture while developing a beautifully charred exterior and remaining tender on the inside; accompanied by a zesty lemon dressing, while capers add a delightful brininess.
Ricotta Bruschetta with Anchovy (HK$98) – The crusty toasted sourdough is generously layered with whipped ricotta that melts in your mouth. The fresh basil and lively salsa verde bring a tangy, aromatic boost, topped off with a brined anchovy. Its salty richness pairs perfectly with the creamy ricotta and crunchy bread, delivering a decadent bite.
Beef Carpaccio with Truffle Oil (HK$158) - A popular Italian starter, this lean, tenderloin meat is full of flavour, topped with rocket leaves and shaved aged Parmesan for nuttiness. Drizzled with truffle oil, it has an earthy aroma that balances these flavours.
Ravioli Fiorentina (HK$158) - Made from scratch on the premises, these ricotta and spinach-filled raviolis are served in a bowl of vibrant tomato and basil sauce, a clean and fresh option that is perfect for any time dining.
Crab Meat Linguine (HK$178) – A Sicilian coastal delight, featuring tender crab meat with natural briny and sweet flavours, complemented by a lively chilli kick. It is paired with juicy cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of basil, all embraced by al dente linguine.
Fusilli Sausage with Sage (HK$168) - The spiralled pasta showcases the rich flavours of sautéed sausage, balanced by the earthy aroma of sage leaves and the sweetness of the cherry tomatoes, while grated Parmesan on top offers a savoury finish.
Parma Ham Tortellini (HK$158) – The hand-formed tortellini are lovingly filled with Parma ham, providing a perfect balance of savoury and subtly sweet on the palate. Diners can choose between a sumptuous Bolognese sauce, where the slow-cooked meat sauce melds beautifully with the pasta, creating a hearty, comforting embrace reminiscent of rustic family kitchens, or a luxurious, creamy truffle sauce that drapes the tortellini in an earthy aroma.
Pan-roasted Primavera Salad (HK$148) – A vibrant homage to the bountiful flavours of Italian vegetables like green beans, asparagus, bell peppers, zucchini, and tomatoes, roasted and tossed with toasted pine nuts for crunch. Dressed in a lemon herb vinaigrette, it’s a refreshing, flavourful main that embodies Italian home cooking.
Broiled Sea Bream with Roast Potatoes, Sicilian Tomato Sauce (HK$198). Fresh sea bream fillet is broiled to achieve a crispy skin and golden exterior, uncovering tender, flaky flesh with a gentle brininess. It is served atop a bed of Sicilian tomato sauce, which offers an ideal balance of acidity and sweetness, accompanied by pan-roasted potatoes.
