Daily Happy Hour and the New Cicchetti Menu at Ask for Alonzo

This summer, Ask for Alonzo is also introducing its new permanent Cicchetti Menu as part of the daily Alonzo’s Hour (happy hour), which runs from 3 pm to 8 pm at all six locations.

In Italy, nobody drinks on an empty stomach — the pairing of a glass with something to nibble is less a rule than a reflex, born from centuries of aperitivo culture. The custom traces its roots to Venice, where bàcari (small wine bars) have long served cicchetti (pronounced chi-KET-tee) — bite-sized morsels of cured meats, marinated vegetables, seafood and cheese, designed to be eaten standing up, shared freely and washed down with a glass of local wine. It is this spirit of easy, sociable indulgence that Ask for Alonzo is now making a permanent fixture of its daily offer.

Guests can build their own spread of Cicchetti Italian snacks for HK$48 per choice, HK$88 for two choices, HK$168 for four choices, or HK$268 for six choices. The selection of Italian bites spans a wide range of options, including:

Potato and Mozzarella Croquettes (3pcs) – A beloved friggitoria classic found from Naples to Rome: golden and crisp outside, with a molten mozzarella heart. Hand-rolled from mashed potato and stretchy mozzarella before being crumbed and fried to order, its warm, savoury crunch calls for the bright citrus lift of a Classic Negroni to cut through the richness.

Selection of Marinated Olives – Olive marinate, dressed simply in olive oil, garlic and herbs in the tradition of Puglia. Left to marinate slowly so the Italian mixed olives soak up every trace of garlic and fragrant herbs; pairs beautifully with a glass of chilled House Prosecco.

Tuna Bruschetta (2pcs) – Toasted bread piled with tuna, a coastal favourite drawn from the fishing villages of Liguria. Flaked tuna is tossed with mayo and a touch of lemon before being piled onto bread charred over the grill; perfect to nibble on with a glass of crisp House Wine.

Parma Ham and Melon – The classic Emilia-Romagna pairing of delicately cured, thinly-sliced Parma ham with sweet, chilled melon. Its salty richness balanced by the melon's sweetness – a combination that comes alive alongside a glass of Auntie Maria's Aperol Spritz.

Mushroom Arancini (3pcs) – Sicily's much-loved fried rice balls, filled here with an earthy mushroom ragù and a molten cheese centre. Made by hand-shaping cooled risotto rice around a spoonful of mushroom ragù and cheese before crumbing and deep-frying until deeply golden, its umami depth is a natural match for a malty House Draught beer.

Marinated Peppers and Artichokes – A fixture of the antipasto table throughout central Italy, slowly cured in oil and herbs. Peppers and artichokes are slow-cooked until tender, then steeped in olive oil and herbs, their tangy sweetness making them an easy match for the crisp botanicals of a Gin and Tonic.

Taleggio Cheese Bruschetta (2 pcs) – Toasted bread topped with melting taleggio, a soft, washed-rind cheese from the valleys of Lombardy. The cheese is melted over warm, freshly toasted bread until soft and oozing, matched well with the bittersweet notes of a Campari Spritz.

Italian Sausage Crostini – Crisp crostini piled with rustic Italian sausage, a trattoria staple found from Tuscany to Rome. The sausage is crumbled and pan-fried before being spooned onto crisp crostini and topped with fresh sage; its savoury flavour calling for the citrusy kick of a Spiked Lemonade.

Drinks to Match – Daily Happy Hour Drinks Start from HK$48

No aperitivo is complete without the right glass in hand. Alonzo Hour offers House Draught beer, House Wines, and Prosecco by the glass from HK$48, plus a line-up of refreshing cocktails at HK$68, including the Campari Spritz, Classic Negroni, and Auntie Maria's Aperol Spritz, alongside Spiked Lemonade and Gin and Tonic at HK$58.

For guests keeping things light, the 0% selection includes Non-Alcoholic Beer, Alonzo's Homemade Lemonade with basil soda, and San Pellegrino Limonata or Blood Orange, all at HK$38.

With Alonzo Hour, Ask for Alonzo brings a genuine slice of Italian bar culture to Hong Kong – proof that the best evenings, much like the best Italian meals, always start with something to eat.

All Ask for Alonzo outlets are open daily for all-day dining. About Ask for Alonzo

Ask for Alonzo is a neighbourhood Italian trattoria built around the pleasures of classic pasta, honest ingredients, and the kind of unhurried hospitality that makes you feel immediately at home. Named for Alonzo, a mysterious family man whose love for home-cooked meals and pasta led him to establish this gastronomic haven. The restaurant brings the essence of Italy's Mediterranean provinces to life through its delightful culinary offerings, with a menu centred on well-made pasta, timeless dishes built for sharing, and Italian family dining traditions that encourage long evenings at the table.

Conveniently located across six Hong Kong neighbourhoods — Wan Chai, Quarry Bay, Tai Hang, Happy Valley, SoHo and Sha Tin — and with an international outpost in Warsaw, Poland, Ask for Alonzo is renowned for delivering fresh, wholesome comfort food in an inviting atmosphere that celebrates Mediterranean seasonality, family-style Italian cooking and excellent value for money.

About Deadly Rabbits Concepts

Founded in 2019, Deadly Rabbits Concepts is a Hong Kong-based dining group dedicated to crafting high-quality yet affordable European dining experiences. The group's name draws inspiration from the whimsical world of Monty Python, paired with the delightfully absurd sense of humour that permeates Poland, the homeland of Bart, the group's founder, who believed that the F&B industry should embody fun and light-heartedness.

The group is also the driving force behind several of the city's beloved neighbourhood dining spots, including Ask for Alonzo at six Hong Kong locations, À Poêle French Bistro in Quarry Bay, and Qué Pasa Spanish Tapas Y Vino in Tai Hang. In September 2025, the group marked a major milestone with the opening of its first international Ask for Alonzo outpost at Varso Tower in Warsaw — the tallest building in both Poland and the European Union. Building on this momentum, the group also launched The Slavic Social, a modern Polish restaurant and cocktail bar at Hilton Warsaw City, which doubles as the business club The Slavic Lab. With a growing presence across Hong Kong and an expansion into Europe, Deadly Rabbits Concepts remains committed to spreading culinary joy across borders.
