This Valentine’s Day, À Poêle French Bistro, the hidden Parisian gem tucked away in Quarry Bay, invites couples to step into an evening of romance inspired by the City of Love. With soulful live saxophone music, candlelit charm, and an exquisite four-course French dinner at an accessible price, À Poêle sets the stage for a night where Paris-style passion and heartwarming flavours come together in perfect harmony.

On 14 February 2026 (Saturday), À Poêle opens its doors for two distinct romantic experiences. From 6 pm to 8 pm, guests can enjoy regular dinner service with the à la carte menu available, ideal for those who wish to design their own French feast in an intimate neighbourhood setting. From 8:00 pm onwards, the bistro unveils its special four-course Valentine’s Day dinner menu, thoughtfully priced at HK$888 per couple, offering couples a refined yet great-value way to savour classic French cuisine without sacrificing elegance or atmosphere.

To elevate the evening further, diners may add a bottle of Bernard Lonclas Blanc de Blancs NV champagne at a special price of HK$498 per bottle, a luxurious yet approachable indulgence. Advance booking is required for this romantic celebration.

Adding to this enchantment, renowned saxophonist Karol Kijas will perform live throughout the evening, serenading diners with soulful jazz melodies. His warm, velvety tones will weave through the room, creating an exquisitely romantic soundtrack that perfectly complements the refined flavours on the plate and the soft murmur of conversation—just as couples might find in a tucked-away bar by the Seine.

A French Love Story in Four Courses

The Valentine’s menu at À Poêle has been designed as a classic French journey—rich, comforting, and deeply romantic—focused on both flavour and value. Each course showcases timeless bistro favourites, carefully composed to feel indulgent yet approachable. The evening begins with a warming embrace: a rich and creamy Prawn Bisque served with croutons. It fragrances prawn essence and smooth texture, soothing the palate and inviting guests to slow down and savour the moment.

For the starter, guests can choose from three quintessentially French options, each reflecting a different expression of Parisian bistro style. The classic Beef Tartare—finely hand-cut and seasoned with capers, shallots, and herbs, served with toasted bread—offers a silky texture and savoury notes. For something lighter, the grilled Asparagus À la Grenobloise is topped with zesty lemon, capers, and parsley, bringing together charred, tender asparagus with a tangy butter-based garnish that sings with freshness and nuance. Those seeking a touch of true French decadence can opt for the Foie Gras Terrine served with chutney and grilled bread, a luxurious pairing of rich, buttery foie gras and sweet-tart chutney, made for lingering bites and stolen glances across the table.

The main course selections continue the love letter to French comfort cooking, offering something for every palate. Seafood lovers can indulge in Lobster Risotto with peas, chives, and butter, a creamy, elegant dish where plump grains of rice soak up lobster flavour and are lifted by the sweetness of peas and the gentle freshness of chives. Meat aficionados may gravitate toward the Pan-seared Striploin with truffle mashed potatoes and port wine sauce, where tender, flavourful beef meets a heady, aromatic truffle mash and a glossy, richly reduced port sauce—a true classic of French-inspired indulgence.

Vegetarian guests and mushroom enthusiasts are well catered for with Fettuccine with Porcini Mushroom and crème fraîche, in which earthy, aromatic porcini meet silky pasta coated in a light yet luscious sauce. For those drawn to rustic, traditional fare, the crispy Duck Confit with potatoes and glazed carrots is a quintessential bistro favourite: golden-skinned, fall-apart duck leg paired with simple, herb-flecked potatoes and sweet, glistening carrots—a dish that feels like a warm embrace on a cool Parisian night.

To finish on a note of pure romance, dessert brings a French classic with a decadent twist: Profiteroles filled with vanilla cream and lavishly topped with Valrhona chocolate sauce. The crisp choux pastry, cool vanilla filling, and intense, silky chocolate combine for a dessert that is as playful as it is indulgent—perfect for sharing and lingering over as the last notes of saxophone drift through the bistro.
