As a tribute to this remarkable legacy, the restaurant is thrilled to announce a month-long special a la carte and tasting menu, available from 9 September to 10 October 2025.

The rejuvenated omakase menus reflect Executive Chef Wah’s innovative interpretation of traditional Japanese cuisine, designed to delight both long-time loyal patrons and new guests alike.

Honouring Tokio Joe’s enduring legacy, the menu features a return of iconic dishes that have shaped a generation of Hong Kong diners, alongside some exciting new creations. Guests can indulge in creative sushi and maki rolls, including David Beckham’s personal favourite, in addition to over 15 crowd-pleasing classics that have made Tokio Joe a beloved fixture in the culinary landscape of Hong Kong.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be celebrating 30 incredible years in Hong Kong," remarked Chef Wah. "This anniversary is not just a reflection of our past; it is a celebration of our future. We are excited to share our culinary journey through this special dining experience."

Guests are invited to join the month-long festivities with two unique dining options:

Exclusive Six-Course Tasting Menu with Complimentary Sake BottleAvailable from now until 10 October 2025, the six-course tasting menu is priced at HK$1,010 per guest. To enhance the celebratory atmosphere, each guest will receive a complimentary 300ml bottle of premium Hanatome Sake, perfectly paired with the refined flavours of the dinner, highlighting a selection of the freshest and highest-quality sashimi and seafood. This offer is available while stocks last.

Guests can also enjoy a 10% discount on the tasting menu when making an advance online reservation.

The six-course tasting menu draws inspiration from the creative flavours of modern Japanese cuisine, showcasing some of the long-time signature dishes that have established Tokio Joe as an iconic Japanese eatery for the past three decades.

Dine on a cold appetiser of Tofu Uni Ae, featuring fresh Japanese tofu drizzled with Joe’s sweetened soya bean, topped with Amaebi sweet shrimp and delicate crabmeat, followed by Premium Tuna Sashimi served with mixed greens in vinaigrette.

Guests will savour the Sashimi Trio Kinmuchi Style, showcasing the freshest cuts of raw halibut, salmon, and “Toro” tuna, lightly dressed in a subtly spiced fermented Kinmunchi sauce. Choose from a main course of Beef Goma Fumi, featuring tender grilled beef fillet dressed in peanut sesame teriyaki sauce, or Miso Kelp-Grilled Sea Bass.

To round off the meal, enjoy a bowl of Chilled Inaniwa Udon served with crispy prawn and vegetable tempura, all beautifully presented in a sea urchin soy dressing. Conclude with a Fried Banana Fritter, served with sesame and accompanied by green tea ice cream.

Anniversary À La Carte Menu

The anniversary à la carte menu offers a selection of Tokio Joe’s much-loved classics since 1996, alongside exciting new creations from recent years, many of which feature creative sushi rolls and bold flavours that have defined Japanese modern dining in our beloved city. Featuring over 15 items, highlights include:

Joe’s Sushi Duo with spicy tuna crunch and spicy sushi cake (HK$130): Debuting in 1999, this dish was one of the first few “Fusion Japanese” creative rolls, crafted from the city’s fondness for tuna and influenced by Western flavours with a focus on seasoning and texture.

House Special Sushi Roll with soft shell crab, avocado, and crab roe (HK$240): A wholly Hong Kong creation, designed in 1996 to cater to local tastes for crispy softshell crab.

Crystal Sushi Roll with shrimp tempura in rice paper and sweet miso sauce (HK$250): A contemporary creative roll featuring rice paper for a delightful chewy texture, complemented by crispy shrimp tempura drizzled in sweet miso sauce.

Spicy Toro Tartare with chopped “Toro” tuna and a hint of spicy dressing, served in a lettuce “wrap” (HK$340): A creative cold appetiser developed in 2000, and a personal favourite of football legend and celebrity David Beckham, during his visits to Tokio Joe.

Veggie Haru Maki with pumpkin and sweet potato tempura wrapped in rice paper (HK$190): A vegetable maki roll conceived in 2005, inspired by the light and refreshing essence of Vietnamese summer rolls.

Joe’s Inaniwa Noodles with Joe’s Style Lobster Soup and Kuruma Prawns (HK$270): Launched in 2002, these al dente Inaniwa noodles are served in a bowl of rich, creamy lobster soup that clings beautifully to the noodles, topped with crispy Kuruma prawn tempura.
