Maggie Choo’s, Hong Kong’s most celebrated cabaret destination, is delighted to announce the launch of its captivating fourth-season production, “Becoming Her”, commencing on Thursday, 7th May 2026. The new headline show promises an unmissable theatrical experience, running every Thursday from 9:30 pm until midnight, with no entrance fee required—guests are simply invited to purchase beverages to enjoy the spectacle.

Departing boldly from its predecessor, “What Maggie Wants”, this new production embraces a visionary ethos: a celebration of womanhood in all its forms — sensual, powerful, modern, and unapologetically confident. “Becoming Her” is a love letter to every woman who has ever dared to be exactly who she is.

The production features twelve dazzling dance numbers across three acts, incorporating high-skilled professional acrobatic displays, tango and jazz numbers, iconic Broadway routines, and signature Asian-inspired acts. Audiences will be treated to live vocal performances accompanied by a house trio band. Spectacular hand-stitched bespoke-designed costumes, designed and made by the in-house creative team, complete the visual extravaganza.

“Becoming Her” will introduce multiple interactive elements throughout the night, with audience members invited to become part of the performance itself — and some will even walk away with surprise prizes.

The Creative Team

The creative force behind “Becoming Her” is Maria Mayorova, Maggie Choo’s Entertainment Director and Costume Designer. A celebrated figure in Hong Kong’s nightlife and entertainment scene, Maria brings years of expertise in visual design, show production, and immersive event curation. Her work has graced five-star hotels, high-profile private events, and exclusive members’ clubs across the region, where her productions have become a benchmark of theatrical glamour.

Choreography is entrusted to Federica Gargano, an award-winning Italian choreographer whose remarkable career spans rhythmic gymnastics, ballet, contemporary dance, and aerial performance — including silks, hoop, and harness work. Federica’s credits include the contemporary production “Apologue 2047”, directed by Zhang Yimou, which toured Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou, as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her choreography for “Becoming Her” delivers an enchanting balance of elegance, sensuality, and playfulness, inviting audiences into a fully immersive experience.

Show Highlights

Among the twelve numbers featured across the evening, audiences can look forward to:

Greek Goddess: LED-adorned Grecian costumes meet the sounds of Beyoncé as mythological goddesses command the stage with elegance and power.

Men’s World: A provocative solo Burlesque act featuring a prop red chair, in which a dancer — disguised as the consummate gentleman — breaks convention and reclaims rhythm and power in a thoroughly interactive exchange with the audience.

Hit Me Baby, One More Time: A joyful reimagining of the iconic Britney Spears anthem, tracing the journey from girlhood to confident womanhood.

Ballerina Act: A sublime fusion of classical ballet and contemporary movement performed on hand straps.

Cell Block Tango: A Broadway favourite reinterpreted to celebrate feminism in all its forms, proving that tango knows no gender.

Canes: A stunning display of acrobatic handstands, strength, skill, and the remarkable power of the female form.

Hush Hush: A show-stopping homage to classic cabaret glamour — all sequins, feathers, and theatrical brilliance.

About Maggie Choo’s

Conceived by award-winning Australian architect and design visionary Ashley Sutton — the creative mind behind Iron Fairies, Dragonfly, and Ophelia — Maggie Choo’s is a masterpiece of atmospheric storytelling. The venue is built upon the legend of Maggie Choo, an orphaned girl who discovered a hidden door behind her family’s antique shop, leading to an abandoned bank vault built by the East India Company in 1847, now transformed into an extravagant secret cabaret destination.

Dressed in leather, imported teak, and copper, the space features a grand antique-style bank vault door, ornate colonial plaster mouldings, twin iron spiral staircases, a ceiling lattice of iron panels, and an entire wall of vintage-style safe deposit boxes. Dim art-deco pendant lighting, green velvet chesterfields, hand-crafted wooden tables, and a centrepiece grand piano complete the intoxicatingly intimate atmosphere. A unique vintage bank teller counter, reimagined as a marble-topped cocktail bar, rounds off this one-of-a-kind setting.

Maggie Choo's is located at Shop 1, Ground Floor, 1-13 Hollywood Road, Central, Hong Kong. It is open daily from 6 pm till late. For inquiries, please WhatsApp +852 6250 6000. Follow on Instagram @maggiechooshk for show updates and the daily band roster.
