Nestled in the heart of the rapidly evolving Quarry Bay neighbourhood, À Poêle French Bistro infuses the local dining scene with a vibrant and sophisticated flair reminiscent of a Parisian bistro. This charming establishment draws inspiration from the classic cafes of Paris and offers guests honest and refined French cooking that soothes the soul.

À Poêle French Bistro is one of two new openings by Deadly Rabbits Concepts, an innovative dining group renowned for its creativity in the Hong Kong dining scene. The group is known for offering top-notch yet wallet-friendly modern European cuisines and is also the hospitality powerhouse behind some of the city's most popular neighbourhood restaurants, including Ask for Alonzo modern Italian eatery in five locations: Wan Chai, Quarry Bay, Tai Hang, Happy Valley and Soho; and soon-to-launch Qué Pasa Tapas Y Vino in Tai Hang.

À Poêle takes its name from the French words for "stove" or “frying pan”, and has been designed to evolve from a casual dining room to a buzzing bistro vibe as the evening progresses, thanks to intimate and intuitive lighting.

Unwind in an Authentic Charm of a Parisian Bistro

This quaint 55-seat bistro’s atmosphere is accentuated by French doors that open across the façade, allowing natural daylight to create an accessible ambience. To reinforce the glamorous ambience of a Parisian café, comfortable banquette seating is elegantly upholstered in crisp navy blue and white striped fabric and matched with the vintage-inspired woven chairs and marble-topped tables set beneath antique mirrors and vibrant hanging plants.

The lively open kitchen adds to the bistro's allure and fills the room with the enticing aromas of expertly prepared dishes, captivating the senses and enhancing the overall dining atmosphere.

À Poêle’s contemporary aesthetic is also highlighted by floor-to-ceiling wooden shelves brimming with an extensive collection of French wines. These fine selections are offered at attractive prices, allowing guests the flexibility to choose their favourite wine to savour with their meal or to take home for later enjoyment. Be sure not to miss the delightful daily happy hour, which stretches from 3 pm to 8 pm, with a wide selection of fine wines and beverages starting from HK$48 per glass.

A Feast for the Eyes and the Tastebuds with Honest Comfort Food

Under the banner of modern French bistro gastronomy, À Poêle serves daily happy hour, weekend a la carte brunch, and affordable lunch and dinner menus seven days a week, offering diners of all persuasions and appetites a showcase of honest French comfort cuisine laced with French cooking techniques, demonstrating the versatility and approachability of French fare.

Indulge in a selection of starters and salads, like the hearty French Onion Soup (HK$98) topped with melted Gruyere cheese; Escargots (HK$128 for six pieces), succulent snails roasted in garlic butter and served with toasted baguette; Seared Tuna (HK$108) drizzled with citrus dressing and pine nuts; Beef Tartare (HK$168) served with fries or garlic bread; Crab Salad (HK$188) with baby spinach, tomato, cucumber and crème fraiche dressing; and many more.

Seafood lovers will enjoy a wide selection of fresh seafood, best paired with À Poêle’s French wines selection, including Scallops Crudo (HK$128), served raw with capers dressing; freshly shucked Oysters (HK$128 for three pieces); Whole Brown Crab (HK$248); Steamed Mussels (HK$228) cooked in white wine and butter and served with fries; or the stunning Plateaux de Fruits de Mer, (HK$598 for two guests), a spectacular seafood platter filled with brown crab, king prawns, whelks, freshly shucked oysters, and Crudo, served with condiments.

About Deadly Rabbits Concepts

Founded in 2019, Deadly Rabbits Concepts, an innovative dining group renowned for its creativity in the Hong Kong dining scene, is known for offering top-notch yet wallet-friendly modern European cuisines.

The group's name draws its inspiration from the whimsical world of Monty Python, paired with the delightfully absurd sense of humour that permeates Poland, the homeland of Bart, the co-founder of Deadly Rabbits Concepts, who believed that the F&B industry should embody fun and light-heartedness. This belief was creatively expressed through the group’s playful logo and unique name, signalling that they are always passionate about what they do.

Deadly Rabbits Concepts has quickly become known for its resilience. During its initial years, the restaurant faced the city's challenges, including the outbreak of the Coronavirus. Despite the difficulties, the savvy dining group has remained steadfast, adapting to the new norms and thriving in the rapidly changing environment of the Hong Kong dining scene.

This creative group is also the driving force behind several of the city’s beloved neighbourhood dining spots. Among their successful establishments is modern Italian restaurant Ask for Alonzo, at five bustling locations: Wan Chai, Quarry Bay, Tai Hang, Happy Valley, and Soho. Adding to its impressive portfolio, Deadly Rabbits Concepts is excitedly preparing to introduce two new culinary concepts to its portfolio in 2024: À Poêle French Bistro in Quarry Bay and Qué Pasa Spanish Tapas Y Vino, a vibrant spot that promises to bring the lively flavours of Spanish tapas and wine to Tai Hang.

These latest openings further cement the group’s reputation for creating unique, forward-thinking dining experiences that cater to the tastes of contemporary food enthusiasts without breaking the bank in an expensive city like Hong Kong.
